Steve Roy
Steve Roy is a Multi-instrumentalist from Portland, Maine. 2013 is Steve's first time at Kamp and we are excited to have him with us - and you will too! Steve met Steve while both teaching at another music camp and Steve was totally impressed with his teaching style (We're not gonna tell you which Steve is Steve K).
Most well known as an upright bass player, he has performed and with a myriad of artists, including Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum, Darol Anger, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, Hit and Run Bluegrass, Spring Creek Bluegrass, Chris Stuart and Backcountry, David Surette, and many more. As an educator, Steve has taught at a wide variety of music camps throughout the United States and Canada. He is a faculty member at Community Music Center in Yarmouth, Maine, and at the Portsmouth Music and Art Center in Portsmouth, NH, teaching bass, guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. He is fluent in a wide variety of styles, including bluegrass, jazz, rockabilly, old time, and Spinal Tap.
