Hilary Hawke
Hilary Hawke is a music lover and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist most known for her creative and versatile, banjo playing.
Based out of NYC for the past 15 years, and originally from upstate, NY, Hilary has been composing, writing, teaching and performing music she loves in solo and collaborative projects. She’s devoted herself to performing and teaching old-time, and american traditional music but also brings her love of all types of music into creating a unique sound to her own music making.
Hilary has recently performed at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall with Kermit the Frog, and arranged the banjo music for 2023 Tony nominated show-The Sign in Sydney Brustein’s Window. Hilary performed on the Tony award winning revival of Oklahoma! on Broadway, and performed in Steve Martin’s production of Bright Star on Broadway as well as many other theatre productions and with bands around the country. In addition, she is a go-to coach for celebrities like Oscar Isaac, Gael García Bernal, and Lupita Nyong’o. Keeping a full private teaching studio for over 15 years have brought a high level to her performing and teaching.
Hilary has played at Greyfox bluegrass festival, the Dubai World Expo, Austin City Limits, the Philadelphia Folk Fest, Folk Music Society of NY to name a few. She currently produces and hosts the Banjo Chat podcast on all streaming platforms. She has 4 albums of music out, and 3 albums with her bands the Wild Goats and Dubl Handi.
